Christina currently serves as the Head of Performance in the Department of Theatre & Drama, and is a Professor of Acting & Stage Combat in the School of Music, Theatre & Dance at the University of Michigan where she has twice been nominated for the prestigious Henry Russel Award, considered the university’s highest honor for faculty at the early to mid-career stages of their career; the award is conferred annually to faculty members who have demonstrated an extraordinary record of accomplishment in scholarly research and/or creativity, as well as an excellent record of contributions as a teacher. Prior to that, she was an Associate Professor of Acting & Movement in the Department of Theatre at Michigan State University for 11 years (serving for 5 years as the Graduate Acting Program Director), teaching a variety of subjects including Classical Acting, Stage Combat, Movement, and Voice. During that appointment she twice received formal recognition from the Department of Resident Life as a faculty member who inspires students to learn, as well as receiving a nomination for the Fintz Award for Teaching Excellence for tenure-system faculty who, in keeping with the goals of integrative studies, seek to make students familiar with different ways of knowing and artistic expression and to assist them in developing critical thinking and effective communication skills.
